Hey y’all! I know I haven’t posted in several months. I’m sorry I’ve been absent from the blogosphere, but I needed to put blogging on hold to pursue other, more important things. I couldn’t find the time to post and if I did, writing here felt contrived and forced because I’d been away from it for so long. Hopefully I might start up again in the future.
That being said, I’ve come out of hiding to make a simple request. Some of you might be familiar with Blue Ridge Blue Collar Girl and her fabulous writing, photography, and musings. She happens to be my mom. Recently she was nominated by BlogAsheville for blog with best writing. I thoroughly concur, and think she should have been nominated in about twenty other areas too. I know some of my readers are also Blue Ridge Blue Collar Girl readers. If you aren’t, you should certainly check out her blog here. You just might discover you want to add her to your own blogroll. Anyway, voting is this week, so please visit BlogAsheville here and vote for her. She certainly deserves it.

Awww…thank you, sweetheart. It’s nice to know I’ll have at least one vote. Well, two. Benjamin voted too. And maybe the person who nominated me. And maybe all those people I handed out ten-dollar bills to….:-)
And you’re definitely right–I most certainly should have been nominated in the Blogger You’d Most Like to See Naked category. Hee, hee. And, yes, I’m most certainly kidding. Though it’s too bad they didn’t have a Blogger You’d Most Hate to See Naked award. I would have been a shoo-in for that…..

First of all, my dear sweet one
It’s good to have you back.
I’ve clicked and clicked and found you gone
And said, “Alas, alack!”
I am acquainted with your Ma’s blog
In fact, I know it well.
I often read her monologues
I like it when she’s gives ‘em hell!
Really, though, your blog’s the best.
But since you so promote her
I’ll click on the BlogAsheville contest
And perhaps…I’ll vote her.
But only if you promise me
You’ll write here soon your words profound.
And write so once more we can see
The lucky pennies that you’ve found.

What I’d like to know is just how a nice, God-fearing lady like your Mama done got mixed up with that Asheville crowd?!! Bunch of hare-brained, heathen hippies! Blasphemous, blundering blockheads! Why, look at your Mama talking about…nekkidness!! Now, I know she wasn’t raised that way. It must be the influence of those wicked, wanton weasels in that Den of Iniquity, Asheville! Almost as bad as where you are–Chapel Hill. Lord help us all!
