At a restaurant in town there used to be a birdcage hanging. Inside there was a Barbie Doll in a red dress. I just loved it! But since the restaurant changed hands the Barbie cage is gone. And, by the way, since this is supposed to be a metaphor for your life, this might be the time to clarify to your readers that the "Owls of Darkness" are NOT symbolic of your parents and the cage is NOT symbolic of your home!
