Sorry for the recent dearth of posts. I’ve been rather busy. Sunday, I moved back into the dorm, and Friday, I helped my brother move into his. Today is the first day of classes, and up until this point, I’ve hardly had a restful moment the past few days.
In any case, here are a couple of pictures. The top one is a Turk’s Cap Lily, and the bottom one is a Carolina Lily. Really, the only difference is that the Carolina Lily only has one flower per plant, whereas the Turk’s Cap has a whole bunch. They’re one of my favorite mountain flowers.
Man, I miss the mountains.

And I miss you and the way you capture our mountains and their wild beauty. I swear–the stars don’t shine near as bright when you and Benjamin are gone. I’m already counting the days ’til Fall Break. (Lovely pictures, by the way. They remind me of all the wonderful hikes we took this summer.)

Hey I have a photo recently taken of the Turk’s Cap Lilies on the Blue Ridge Parkway–down our way. I haven’t yet posted the photos, though. Aren’t they grand?
I wish you and your brother the best of luck at school this year. I hope you can find some time to keep blogging. I know it’s hard, though. Think of it this way: your mom misses you, you miss her and the mountains, and your blog can help you all stay connected even better!
